Instead of a regular blog, we'll try something different this time . . .
Create a 2-page document using Nota (notaland.com).  The first page should be a multimedia collage (pictures, clipart, word art, etc.) of characters, themes, and ideas related to your short story.  The second page should be a written explanation justifying the choices you made in your collage.  See the example below.

When you are finished, copy the embed code from Nota, and email it to Mr. Cleary at clearyphs@gmail.com.  All collages will be posted here.

This is a small group blog post.  After reading your assigned section of "Savages" and responding to the group questions, collect your ideas and arrange them into a paragraph.  Post them here before class tomorrow.  Be sure to post the names of everyone in your group as well.

After watching "The Crucible" and learning about the Salem Witch Trials, collect your thoughts about the experience.   What do you think of the behaviors of those involved?  What about the events in the movie or in the online activity disturbed you? Who, if anyone, was right or wrong?  Has society really changed much since this time?  How did the American Dream change during this time?  What do you think happened to the vision of the American Dream in this community after the trials finally came to an end?

Please post your thoughts below before class on Monday.

We've already discovered that everyone has a different vision of the American dream.  After reading through some of the dreams of the notable Americans from Forbes, collect and post your thoughts about the American dream.  Consider the following.

- What are some common ideas/themes you've noticed?  Why do you think these keep popping up?
- What, if anything in these dreams, surprised you?  Why?
- Did you find anything you don't believe should be part of the American dream?  What?  Why should it not be part of the dream?
- What is your vision of the American Dream, and how closely does your vision align with what you've read today?
- Whose dream is most like yours?  Does this surprise you?  Explain.
- Has your dream changed during your life?  How?
- Is your dream achievable? Explain.
- Do all Americans have a chance at achieving their dreams?  Explain.
- What happens to the dream when times turn bad?  Is this positive or negative?  Explain.
